How The Start Strong Preschool Fee Relief Works

We’re pleased to announce that the Start Strong preschool funding will continue into 2024, offering substantial savings for families with preschool-aged children.

Long Day Care Service for 3 Year Olds

From 2024, eligible children aged 3 and not yet 4 years old can receive up to $500 per year in fee relief when enroled in an education program at an eligible long-day care service like ours.

Affordable Preschool for 4 and 5 Year Olds

For eligible children aged 4 on or before 31 July 2024, families may save up to $2,110 per year in fee relief. This applies to four and five year olds attending preschool in a long day care setting.

The Start Strong Funding is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy

The Start Strong Fee Relief is designed to make quality early childhood education programs more accessible:

The fee relief is linked to enrolment and attendance in long day care.
The fee relief amount does not change based on family income or assets.
The start strong funding is additional to the Child Care Subsidy payment you may already receive.

Eligibility for Start Strong Fee Relief

NSW families are eligible for fee relief if their child is:

– At least 3 years old on or before 31 July 2024
– Not yet in compulsory schooling
– Enroled in a preschool program at an eligible long day care service like Kiddie Garden

How to Access Fee Relief

To receive the fee relief, families are required to complete a declaration form. This form allows you to nominate our service to receive the Start Strong payment on your behalf. We will then pass on the fee relief directly to you, reducing your out-of-pocket expenses.
